APPLE COMPUTER LOAN PRE-APPROVAL NUMBER (PAN) DECODER

The Apple Computer Loan (ACL) Pre-Approval Number (PAN) Decoder is an application which will assist you in administering the new Apple Computer Loan.
PLEASE NOTE: The information this application gives you access to is confidential. It should be used with discretion and only with the customer who gives you their PAN. Apple and University Support Services, Inc. will not be held liable for any use or misuse of this application and/or the information contained within.
A PAN is a loan Pre-Approval Number which an Apple Computer Loan Service Specialist gives to an ACL borrower after they have been pre-approved over the phone. The borrower will bring this number to you, the reseller, so their quote may be faxed to the loan servicing center and processed.
To use the PAN Decoder, you must first copy the application to your hard drive. Drag the icon called "Apple PAN Decoder" to your hard drive. To run the application, double-click on the "Apple PAN Decoder" icon now located on your hard drive. Enter the 14 digit PAN into the PAN field and click OK. (You can use the following PAN to test the Decoder: V5EYHEMBU1BN02D.) The Decoder will produce four numbers in the fields below the PAN:
1) Maximum Purchasing Amount: This is the amount of loan dollars the borrower has been pre-approved for and has to spend. You may use this to sell up the customer, if desired.
2) The Campus Code: This is your campus code as referenced by Apple.
3) Application ID: This is the borrower's loan application number. THIS MUST BE INCLUDED ON THE QUOTE WHICH YOU FAX TO THE LOAN PROCESSING CENTER. (Note: The PAN itself must ALSO be included on the quote. The fax number to fax the quote to is: 319-339-6915.)
4) Application Date: This is the date the applicant called the Apple Computer Loan phone number to apply (800-Apple-LN or 800-277-5356) and received their PAN upon
pre-approval.
